This piece is much nicer than what we usually see for this date in the MS-62 condition rating. The surfaces are practically all-white on both sides, with just slight traces of a wispy opaque haze. The fields emanate a semi-prooflike appearance. Contact marks pepper the obverse, with more of them visible on Ms. Liberty’s face than you see in the fields; but none of them are excessive, and they don’t detract from the coin’s eye appeal (if about four of them disappeared, the grade would easily rise to MS-63).

The reverse is MS-63+ in terms of condition, with the only noticeable abrasions located in the field above the motto. Overall, this is a very pleasing example of the key date in a set of GSA Morgan silver dollars.
