My boss, Dave from Half Moon Bay, is a regular at the annual Reno Air Race Show. He told me that both Marie & Maya are extremely friendly, accommodating and go out of their way to provide him with the most excellent customer service he has ever experienced. The store owner was even awesome enough to give my boss a casino coin for good luck! Dave told me this is the most immaculate storefront he has ever been to. Not one fingerprint on the glass countertops or display cases. Prices are the best he has seen. He loved them so much he even tipped Maya a $20 for lunch! If he could give them 10 stars he would give them 12!!!

Not only did they (without telling me I checked afterwards) match the best price I could find online Rusty and Maya were so cautious in taking my money as they wanted to make certain I would not have any regrets. *I'm pretty unorthodox in my methods.
I view these folks as an extremely valuable yet difficult to find resource and I think you are a fool to not buy from Southgate.
They have a business to run yet try their best to make sure they do not take any clients in a direction these clients are not fully aware the potential ramifications.
Buy online, "save a few points" and think your smart.
Or, be intelligent and let these wonderful folks guide you along your path towards owning real money with real upswing potential.

Really appreciated this place helping me out. My grandpa and I brought in a coin collection with a few gold pieces to see about selling it. They took their time to explain what the selling process was, and how they determine the values of coins. The owner went through everything we had, and made us an offer. I was impressed with how smoothly everything went, and how they made sure to explain everything I had questions about. If I come across more coins, I know where I'll be taking them to sell.

My boyfriend recently received a tip/gift and it was a 1914 2.50 gold coin. I'm not too knowledgable on collectible items like this, but after reading reviews, I suggested that we try there first (to sell the coin). Though this specific coin is pretty common, he still paid us over what he originally quoted out of goodwill. We got the same coin prices at another place and they wanted to give us significantly less.
Southgate Coins has a remarkable team of staff working to make sure both of you get a good deal. Will definitely return if ever needed.

Coin selection was very large and diverse, service was great, and the shop was in a nice part of town. However my experience with the silver prices was a confusing one and I think I misinterpreted some prices, either way they have an excellent silver selection. Also another plus is they sent me a thank you letter via email and I appreciate that a whole bunch.

I've never been a collector myself, but I like to give unique gifts. So far, I have been able to find several different gifts for different people at Southgate. The lady behind the counter has helped me a few times. She was quick to figure out what I was looking for each time. My favorite was a gift for a very dear friend. Neither of us had ever heard of 'fractional currency' before. It is paper money from the mid to late 1800s with face values less than a dollar. My friend was absolutely tickled with his gift. Since leaving the area, I have been unable to find a coin dealer with as much knowledge and as helpful. So, now, I work with Southgate online.

While cleaning out some drawers in my home I found some old silver dollars. I took them to Southgate Coins to have them appraised. The person in the store that I talked to was the owner and she was very knowledgeable about coins and their value. She even showed me in her book what the appraised value of the coins was. She gave me a very good price for my coins, even though some of them were not in top condition. She was very patient and courteous with me. If I find more "treasure" in my drawers, I will certainly take it to Southgate Coins for appraisal.
