For some reason, the camera lens had a difficult time capturing the true color and the radiant luster. The obverse displays much more silvery white color, with just a light tint of auburn shading sprinkled in. An attractive blend of turquoise and burnt-orange toning encircles the periphery. Small scattered contact marks are visible but not distractive. Die cracks, clash marks, and machine doubling in the letters complete the obverse’s diagnostics. The reverse shows much of the same silvery-white, with a hint of auburn blended in, across its surfaces, with subtler shades of the same peripheral toning seen on the obverse. Most of the reverse’s field and device areas are relatively free of abrasions, with the one worth mentioning—a small scrape—located below the word DIME.
Overall, for the grade, this is a very pleasing example of this common date Carson City dime.
