This is a just-miss MS-65 example of a semi-key date in the Carson City Morgan dollar series. At first, the obverse appears to be snow-white in color, with powerful luster. But as soon as you tilt the coin, a translucent haze is revealed. Only a few minor contact marks dot its surfaces. The reverse displays dazzling white luster, with just the slightest hint of amber toning hugging the rim to the left of the word UNITED. The strike is beyond bold. Overall, the reverse deserves an MS-66 condition rating.
It would be a challenge to find a nicer looking 1891-CC dollar in an MS-64 holder.
