Stripe Insists on Charging Us Processing Fees in the Case of Fraudulent Transactions Even When Stripe is Responsible for the Fraudulent Transactions Getting through Fraud Prevention Filters

Our payment gateway processor, Stripe, does not cooperate with us fully in fraud prevention. Fraudulent transactions occur when someone uses a stolen credit card and places an order on our website. Despite our efforts to ensure filters are in place to screen suspicious activity for every order received through this website, some fraudulent transactions still get processed. Stripe charges us a 3% processing fee even for fraudulent transactions, and even if the fraudulent transactions are due to Stripe’s negligence.

Because Stripe leaves us vulnerable, we must verify all website orders from new customers by phone. If you are a new customer wishing to place an order, you must send an email through our Contact page that includes a phone number at which you can be reached. We will call you and ask for pertinent information to verify that you are indeed the legitimate cardholder. Once confirmed, we will process your order.

All our known customers can ignore the above.

We thank all new and legitimate customers for your understanding regarding the safeguards we must employ to combat fraud.
