Please read this tribute to Rusty and Marie's pet dog, Gracie, who died on Tuesday, May 30th, 2006...
Gracie Goe, the half Yorkshire Terrier, half Poodle owned by Rusty and Marie Goe of Reno, died at the age of 12 years, two months on Tuesday evening, May 30th. Gracie had been experiencing shortened breath for a few days prior to her death, which, according to the family vet, was caused by heart failure. Gracie had been diagnosed as having an enlarged heart in 2005, and the Goes treated her with medication prescribed by their vet to help ameliorate her condition. The end came quick and sudden, as the Goes rushed Gracie to two different animal hospitals for diagnosis and tests. Finally, after an EKG and an ultrasound, the doctor-in-charge informed Marie Goe that Gracie had no chance of survival. After consulting with her husband, Rusty, Marie gave the doctor approval to humanely put Gracie to sleep. Gracie left this world at 7:00 o'clock in the evening while laying in Marie's lap.
Gracie was born on Easter Sunday, April 3, 1994, and became a part of the Goe family on May 28, 1994. She survived the death of the Goe's Yorkie, named Rocky, who was brutally killed by a pit bull in front of the Goe's house in Las Vegas in April of 1999. Shortly thereafter, Marie brought two new Yorkie pups, Sonny and Mikey, into the family to provide Gracie with company and fill the void left by Rocky's death. For the past five years, Gracie and the other two pups have lived with Rusty and Marie at the Goe's home in Reno.
Gracie's passing leaves an immense gap in the Goe household: she will be greatly missed. She was the most caring, well-behaved and faithful individual either Rusty or Marie has ever met. The Goe's reluctantly release her to the next world, praying that she will have fields of fresh grass in which to go bounding to her heart's content.
Thanks for the memories old girl.
