The Fifteenth Annual Carson City Coin Show Pictorial Review
The annual Carson City Coin Show was held at the Nevada State Museum on Saturday and Sunday the 25th and 26th of August. It is said that a picture is worth a thousand words, so please enjoy browsing through this year’s pictorial review of the show.
On Friday afternoon the Southgate gang loaded-up Rusty's truck full of items to take to the coin show. Just look at that Maya checking her list of things to bring!
The Southgate team are all smiles on Saturday afternoon behind their dealer table. From the left: Rusty, Maya, Amy and Marie.
Rusty hosted his third book signing for the new book, "James Crawford: Master of the Mint At Carson City - A Short Full Life" on Saturday at the show. Here Rusty is pictured with gift shop manager Charm waiting for the book signing to begin. By the end of the show, the gift shop sold about twenty of our new books to fellow "CC" enthusiasts. James Crawford would be so proud.
While Rusty was at the book signing event, Amy held down the fort. For some reason there was a large crowd gathered at the table during those two hours of Rusty's absence. Later Amy said that it was because she told everyone that all coins were 50% off while Rusty was away. That's one way to get the crowds Amy!
After the book signing Rusty decided to tour the museum grounds with C4OA member Michael Parrott and look where they ended up... (Notice the old Carson Mint building behind Rusty.)
After the show ended on Saturday night, the crew along with some faithful C4OA members, gathered together at the Carson Station Grille for an informal club meeting. From the front left: Thomas DeFina, Southgate Staffers Amy and Maya, Marie and Rusty Goe, Richard Bishop and his wife Marie all the way at the end of the table, Michael Parrott and his wife Joanne, Otto Klay, and Tony and Mary Ann Arnold.
Marie joined Rusty and Amy at the show on Sunday. It was a good thing too, because extra hands were needed to help pack everything up and to drag it all back home after the show ended. Thanks Marie!
The show came to a close on Sunday afternoon after the grand prize winner was announced.
We hope you have enjoyed this little peek into our experiences from the coin show this year.
