For St. Patrick’s Day, many people do many different things to celebrate the “green-beer” holiday, but the most universally recognized tradition is to wear green, of course! (Well, that is unless you want to receive a succession of pinches all day!) Following holiday and store tradition, Rusty, Marie, and I (Nicole) all wore bits of green at work on Saturday March 17.
I also brought a special surprise for Rusty: Earlier this week I picked up a large leprechaun hat from the local Wal-Mart, knowing it would make for good laughs and some even better pictures. Honestly, I really just wanted to see it on Rusty—the perfect ginger-haired leprechaun—but then he made me wear it first to take pictures!
Now here’s Maya to tell you how her day off went.
This is the first St. Patrick’s Day that I (Maya) was not scheduled to work. And, although I love to participate in the workplace festivities, I had an important task for the green holiday: moving!
Needless to say, I had already taken most of my laundry over to my new place, so when I woke up Saturday morning, the first thing I asked my husband was, “Truce?” Confused, he asked what I must have done to ask for a truce. When I reminded him it was St. Patrick’s Day, he agreed to let me go, pinch-free, until I could change my blouse at the new place. What a sweetie—I don’t think I would have been that lucky with Nicole at work!
Thanks for sharing, Maya.
I’m sure you’ll all enjoy the pictures, and I hope everyone had a safe—and lucky—St. Patrick’s Day weekend!
Cheers,
Nicole and Maya
