There are only a short, few days left of the summer season, and the heat of the Reno area is already dying down. Hopefully, as we approach the season change, the smoky atmosphere will lift as the King Fire in California gets put out.
The 2014 summer was eventful for Southgate Coins. We had a very successful regional meeting for our affiliate club, the Carson City Coin Collectors of America, which brought many C4OAers to the Reno-Carson area. It’s always good to reunite each year with friends, both near, and far, in the name of Carson City coinage.
And just a week ago, on September 11, 2014, Southgate Coins celebrated its 13th anniversary in Reno. We received many calls commending us on another year in business at our shop on South Virginia Street, and we are grateful to all those customers and friends who have been supporting us since we opened our doors on that fateful day in 2001.
Now, as we round out the month of September, it’s time for Southgate to swing into holiday shopper-mode, as the fall season always brings shoppers from all over who are looking to nail down the perfect holiday gifts for their loved ones. We will be sure to accommodate, though, with many 2014-themed gifts including Silver Eagles, Proof Silver Eagles, and Proof Sets as well. And of course, if you’re looking for older numismatic items, we have those as well... And currency, and supplies, and many other items to suit the needs of the collector in your life.
Just remember, when you visit our store, only about 10% of our inventory is out in the cases. If there’s something you’re looking for that you don’t see, ask us, and we’ll look in the back for you!
