With traditions that we had slightly altered last year due to a smaller crew here at Southgate Coins, we celebrated Maya’s 24th birthday this year with simplicity and flair. We recognized her birthday on Friday the 18th (although her official birthday is on the 19th), since this Saturday is also our 2nd annual “May Birthday Madness” company dinner for the three birthdays that take place this month (Maya the 19th, Rusty the 21st, and myself the 31st). Read on for more on Maya’s special day.
I’m not sure when the age is that you are no longer allowed to reveal a woman’s age, but I think Maya is still in the clear, haha. At 24-years-old, Maya’s birthday weekend also takes place on a rare occurrence of an annular solar eclipse, which is the only time in any of our lifetimes that this will happen. The last time one was viewable from here in Reno was 1889! Maya’s birthday must be special!
Rusty, Marie, and I (Nicole) got Maya a silly card with our sentiments and also a small calla lily plant (purple, of course), and balloon. Marie had a custom red velvet cake made for Maya from Josef’s Bakery, which was by far the best I’d ever tasted. With delicious and rich cream cheese frosting and vanilla ice cream to boot, it was an amazing way to wrap up an extremely busy work day.
As we all look forward to the weekend birthday dinner together, maybe next year I’ll be able to say that Maya is celebrating her “24th and holding” birthday … just kidding Maya, you only have a couple years on me! Well until then, from all us here at Southgate Coins, we wish you all an extraordinary weekend!
